Job summary

Internetwork Expert in Johannesburg seeks an experienced financial modeller to manage a portfolio of assignments and lead in building robust models using Excel. You will shape assumptions, run scenarios, and present findings to clients while guiding a team of modelling professionals.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in a financial role.
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts; additional qualification is a plus.
• Proven ability to build and operate financial models in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of active assignments.
• Lead creation and optimization of financial models for strategic decision-making.
• Develop assumptions, parameters and scenarios with managers for robustness.
• Discuss commercial issues with clients and reflect them in the model.
• Perform sensitivity analyses and stress testing to validate assumptions.
• Help develop and improve modeling methodologies and tools.
• Prepare comprehensive model documentation detailing methods and results.
• Maintain records of modeling processes for consistency.
• Lead project plans, timelines and resource allocation for delivery.
• Lead a team of modelling professionals and train junior members.
• Communicate findings to clients and internal teams; translate complex issues for non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to client pitches and business development; lead client calls and relationships.

Job description

Operations:

• Managing a portfolio of active assignments.
• Lead in the creation and optimization of comprehensive financial models to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and refine assumptions, parameters, and scenarios under the guidance of Managers to ensure model robustness and reliability.
• Discuss commercial issues with clients and ensure they are accurately reflected in the model.
• Perform sensitivity analysis and stress testing to validate model assumptions and outputs, aiding clients in making informed decisions.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of our financial modeling methodologies and tools, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
• Prepare comprehensive model documentation detailing assumptions, methodologies, and results.
• Maintain meticulous records of modeling processes and methodologies to uphold our high standards and ensure consistency.
• Lead in developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.

• Degree qualified in a numerate discipline, with a postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance beneficial.
• Experience with the FAST financial modeling standard is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
