Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking an experienced Aircraft Systems Engineer to drive the design, development, integration and testing of complex aircraft systems, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory compliance across programs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead system testing and certification activities, and apply CAD/CAE and simulation tools to hydraulics, avionics, propulsion and structures throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, avionics, propulsion and structures.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE and simulation tools.
• Experience with system integration, testing and certification processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and develop aircraft systems including flight controls and environmental controls.
• Integrate new systems into existing platforms ensuring compatibility and functionality.
• Perform system testing, validation, and verification against specifications.
• Troubleshoot complex engineering problems related to aircraft systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and flight test teams across the lifecycle.
