Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto is seeking an experienced Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to design, integrate and test advanced electrical architectures for modern aircraft. The role focuses on reliability, safety and efficiency of power, avionics and control systems in a demanding aerospace environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams and apply MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE tools, ensuring compliance with aviation standards such as DO-160.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft electrical systems engineering.
Proficiency in electrical CAD software and MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE.
Strong understanding of aircraft power systems, avionics, control systems, and EMC.
Experience with systems integration and testing in aerospace context.
Knowledge of aviation standards and regulations DO-160, AC 70/7460-1.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical system architecture, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and power distribution systems.
Integrate electrical components and systems, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance.
Perform analysis and simulations to verify system performance and safety under various operating conditions.
Develop test procedures and conduct testing of electrical systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including avionics, structures, and power plant engineers.
Ensure all designs and installations meet stringent aviation regulations and standards.
Document design specifications, test results, and system performance reports.
