Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Aircraft Structures Technician to join their maintenance and repair team in Randburg, Gauteng . This role involves performing complex repairs, modifications, and maintenance on aircraft airframes and structural components, ensuring airworthiness and structural integrity. You will work with a variety of materials, including composites, aluminum, and steel, applying advanced techniques to maintain aircraft in optimal condition. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands‑on experience, a deep understanding of structural repair schemes, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. This is a key position within a reputable aviation maintenance organization operating in the busy Randburg area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform intricate structural repairs on aircraft airframes, wings, fuselages, and control surfaces using approved data and techniques.
  • Interpret and apply structural repair manuals (SRMs), engineering drawings, and maintenance directives.
  • Work with a range of materials including composites, aluminum alloys, steel, and other specialized aerospace materials.
  • Operate specialized tools and equipment for structural work, including sheet metal fabrication tools, welding equipment, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) devices.
  • Ensure all structural maintenance and repair work is completed to the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Trade Certificate in Aircraft Structures, Sheet Metal, or Composites, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician, with a strong portfolio of repair work.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft structural drawings , repair schemes, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with composite repair techniques and aluminum alloy structural repairs.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex structural issues, and mentor junior technicians in the Randburg facility.
