Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join our maintenance facility in Port Elizabeth. You will perform a range of tasks from inspections to repairs on airframe structures, ensuring airworthiness and structural integrity across the fleet.

The role requires a relevant technical qualification in aircraft structures or a related trade and at least 5 years hands-on experience, preferably with commercial aircraft.

Qualifications

  • A relevant technical qualification in aircraft structures or a related trade.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as an Aircraft Structures Technician, preferably with commercial aircraft.
  • Proficiency in working with sheet metal, composites, and welding techniques relevant to aircraft structures.
  • Familiarity with structural repair manuals and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and fabricate aircraft structural components using materials such as aluminum, composites, and steel.
  • Perform structural repairs according to approved data, engineering drawings, and airworthiness directives.
  • Identify and document structural damage, corrosion, and fatigue, and recommend appropriate repair actions.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and modifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve structural issues and improve repair processes.
  • Maintain detailed records of all structural work performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
