Job summary

Placements24 is seeking certified Air Traffic Controllers for a regional airport role in the Mahikeng area, North West. You will ensure safe, orderly traffic flow, issue timely instructions, and coordinate with other units to maintain separation.

The ideal candidate has SACAA-approved ATC credentials, 5+ years of experience, and strong situational awareness, decision-making, and communication skills in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

• Valid ATC license and SACAA ratings or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years as a certified ATC.
• Proven ability to manage complex ATC scenarios across weather and traffic.
• Excellent situational awareness and quick decision-making.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, remaining calm under pressure.
• Proficiency with ATC radar, systems, and radio communications.

Responsibilities

• Control and manage all air traffic within assigned airspace.
• Provide clear, timely instructions to pilots regarding headings, altitudes, speeds and clearances.
• Monitor radar displays and surveillance equipment to track aircraft movements.
• Coordinate with other ATC units, airlines, and airport operations for seamless flow.
• Identify and manage potential conflicts to maintain safe separation.
• Respond to emergencies and unusual situations per established procedures.
• Maintain logs and records of all ATC activities.
• Adhere to operational procedures, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously monitor weather conditions and disseminate information to pilots.
