About the Role

Our client, a crucial entity managing aviation safety, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Air Traffic Controller to operate from their state-of-the-art facility near Rustenburg, North West, ZA. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic within the designated airspace. As a Senior Air Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for managing complex air traffic scenarios, coordinating with pilots and other air traffic control units, and responding effectively to emergencies. This is a demanding, on-site position that requires peak performance under pressure. The ideal candidate will possess an exemplary safety record and advanced control certifications, contributing to the seamless operation of regional air travel. Key Responsibilities

• Control and manage air traffic in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
• Issue clearances, instructions, and information to aircraft to ensure safe separation.
• Monitor radar displays, flight progress strips, and other relevant systems to track aircraft movements.
• Coordinate with adjacent air traffic control units and other aviation stakeholders.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations, diverting traffic as necessary to ensure safety.
• Train and mentor junior air traffic controllers, providing guidance and feedback.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of airspace, procedures, and aviation technologies.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Participate in safety investigations and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
• Operate specialized air traffic control equipment and systems.

Requirements

• Valid Air Traffic Controller license with relevant ratings (e.g., Aerodrome, Approach, Area Control).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in air traffic control.
• Proven ability to manage complex and high-density air traffic.
• Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, meteorology, and navigation principles.
• Proficiency in using air traffic control radar systems and communication equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain security clearances.
• Must be able to perform duties at the Rustenburg, North West, ZA facility.
