Placements24 is seeking a Senior AI Ethics and Compliance Officer to lead ethics and regulatory programs in a remote capacity. You will steer policy development, audits, and risk mitigation for AI deployments, guiding development teams with expert compliance guidance.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in compliance or governance within technology/AI sectors, with strong knowledge of GDPR/POPIA and data privacy. This role offers remote work and broad impact across projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and AI/tech specialization required.
• 5+ years in compliance, risk management, or governance, preferably in tech/AI.
• Strong understanding of AI, privacy regs (POPIA/GDPR), and regulatory trends.
• Proven record developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI ethics and compliance policies.
• Conduct audits of AI systems for regulatory and ethical adherence.
• Assess risks in AI deployment and propose mitigations.
• Provide training to dev teams on ethics and compliance best practices.
• Monitor evolving AI regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with legal, privacy, and engineering teams on issues.
• Investigate ethical concerns or breaches and report findings.
• Prepare compliance and ethics reports for management.
• Advise on ethical implications of new AI tech and apps.
• Contribute to responsible AI frameworks and principles.
