Job summary

Absa Group in Johannesburg/Sandton seeks a senior Corporate Actuarial professional to lead experience investigations and assumption setting. You will drive data-driven insights, model validation, and AI-enabled enhancements across the insurance value chain.

You will collaborate with CFOs, Exco and external auditors, while mentoring actuarial students and delivering key priorities for the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science (Required).
• Fellow Actuary status is essential.
• 7+ years’ experience in corporate actuarial life office valuations.
• Experience with ML/AI is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Drive delivery of experience investigations and assumption setting, including 1st line QA.
• Improve investigation techniques with statistical tests and data quality.
• Lead adoption of modern tools and AI capabilities where appropriate.
• Research macro trends and provide management information for action.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including CFOs, Exco and Board committees.
• Lead actuarial students and support talent development.
