Job summary

The Recruitment Council is seeking an Actuarial Manager to lead a team of Actuarial Analysts in the Non-Life Corporate Actuarial group in Sandton. You will report to the Head of Corporate Actuarial and drive high-quality actuarial solutions that support strategic objectives through modelling, monitoring and insight delivery.

You will oversee SAM calculations, reserving, IFRS 17 reporting, and collaborate with the HAF and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science is required.
• 5+ years actuarial experience with 3+ years in Non-Life.
• Experience in reserving, SAM and IFRS reporting is required.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of actuarial analysts within Non-Life Corporate Actuarial.
• Oversee SAM calculations and reporting for regulatory compliance.
• Drive end-to-end reserving processes including methodology and assumptions.
• Advance IFRS 17 reporting and implementation aligned with standards.
• Collaborate with HAF and external auditors on reviews.
• Support ERM framework development including ORSA and stress testing.
• Mentor the team and present insights to senior management and boards.
• Develop models to assist pricing, capital management and planning.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation within the actuarial function.
