Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Tutor for a part-time, hybrid role combining on-site guidance at our Vereeniging campus with remote online support.

You will deliver tutoring across accounting principles, financial and management accounting, and taxation; guide exam preparation for SAIPA, ACCA, and CIMA; develop personalised learning plans; provide constructive feedback; and maintain student progress records to ensure success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting / BCom or related field.
• Professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, SAIPA) is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting practice or related finance roles.
• Proven tutoring/teaching accounting principles experience.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, financial accounting, management accounting and taxation.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
• Proficient in accounting software and educational platforms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality tutoring sessions in accounting subjects (financial & management accounting, auditing).
• Explain complex accounting concepts in a clear, accessible way.
• Assist students with homework, assignments and case studies.
• Prepare students for professional examinations (SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Develop and implement personalised learning plans to meet student needs.
• Provide feedback on student work and guide improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Facilitate group study sessions and workshops.
• Utilize a hybrid model with on-campus and remote tutoring sessions.
• Stay current with accounting standards and professional body requirements.
