Job summary

Communicate Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide crucial financial analysis and strategic insights to assist leadership in decision-making. You will prepare management accounts, conduct variance analysis, and support various business units while ensuring IFRS compliance.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience, expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel, and proficiency with accounting software like SAP or Oracle. You will oversee a team and help them grow, ensuring the future success of the accounting department.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' commercial experience.
• Strong working knowledge of advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling in Microsoft Excel.
• Exposure to ERP systems is non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Perform variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

• Support audits to ensure IFRS compliance.
• Track and analyze inventory costs, including stock valuations.

Job description

A well-established and reputable organisation is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis, strategic insights, and accounting support to assist the senior leadership team in making informed business decisions. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Accounting Manager as well as oversee a team of accountants and provide guidance and training to upskill them and ensure succession planning.

Job Description

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
• Performing variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Providing support to the various business units, cost centres and assisting to resolve queries
• Supporting audits and ensure IFRS compliance
• Tracking and analyzing inventory costs, including stock valuations and goods in transit
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of robust financial controls and procedures
• Collaborating with IT and other departments to successfully identify and implement areas of automation and enhancements to systems and processes

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years' commercial experience
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modelling)
• Exposure to accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, Xero) - non-negotiable
• Excellent analytical and forecasting skills
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
