Job summary

Placements24 in Durban is seeking a meticulous Senior Accountant to join the finance team on-site. You will oversee daily accounting operations, manage the month-end close, and contribute to accurate financial reporting under IFRS/GAAP while ensuring tax compliance and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA a strong advantage), 5+ years in accounting, and proficiency with SAP, Oracle or Pastel and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in accounting with IFRS/GAAP knowledge and tax awareness.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with senior exposure.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Prepare financial statements and cash flow analyses.
• Ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance and tax regulations.
• Support audits and reconcile intercompany accounts.
