Job summary

Network Finance is assisting a client in the power generation and manufacturing sector to appoint a Financial Manager. You will lead a five-person finance team and own the close, reporting, controls and financial processes while partnering with the wider business.

This hands-on role requires moving between detailed Excel reporting, technical accounting, audits and the realities of a manufacturing environment. Based in Gauteng, the role sits onsite and collaborates across functions.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting / Finance or CIMA qualification.
• 5+ years in senior finance / Financial Manager role.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or OEM environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a five-person finance team across management accounting and AR/AP
• Drive month-end journals, ledger reconciliations and financial close
• Produce and oversee detailed Excel-based management reporting
• Liaise with external auditors and assist with annual financial statement preparation
• Drive input into budget preparation and financial planning
• Support ISO audit requirements
• Oversee customer invoicing, supplier invoices and reconciliations
• Review supplier evaluation processes and strengthen financial controls

Our client operates within the power generation and manufacturing sector.

As Financial Manager, you’ll lead a team of five direct reports, covering key areas across the finance function, including two Junior Management Accountants and a Debtors/Creditors function. You’ll sit at the centre of the numbers, overseeing the close, reporting, controls and financial processes while partnering with the wider business.

This is a hands‑on management role for someone who is comfortable moving between detailed Excel reporting, technical accounting, audits and the operational realities of a manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a five-person finance team across management accounting and AR/AP
• Drive month-end journals, ledger reconciliations and financial close
• Produce and oversee detailed Excel-based management reporting
• Liaise with external auditors and assist with annual financial statement preparation

Job Experience & Skills Required

• BCom Accounting / Finance or CIMA
• 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance / Financial Manager capacity
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, OEM or a technical product environment
• Strong Excel skills, particularly around financial reporting and analysis
• QuickBooks experience preferred
• Solid technical accounting and month-end expertise
• Exposure to AFS preparation, external audits and budgeting
• Proven experience leading a finance team
