Placements24 seeks a Senior 3D Environment Artist for a renowned game studio in Rustenburg, North West. You will craft immersive worlds, model and texture environments, and implement assets in modern engines, delivering visually stunning landscapes.

You will optimize assets for performance, mentor junior artists, and stay updated on industry trends while collaborating with designers and directors to shape the visual direction of titles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a 3D Environment Artist in the game industry, with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender).
• Expertise in PBR texturing tools (Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Quixel Mixer).
• Experience with game engines (Unreal Engine or Unity).
• Strong hard-surface and organic modeling techniques and art fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D environment assets (buildings, props, terrain, foliage) matching art style and technical requirements.
• Build immersive game environments through composition, lighting, and storytelling visuals.
• Optimize environment assets for real-time performance across platforms.
• Texture and material creation using PBR workflows (Substance Painter, Quixel).
• Collaborate with level designers and art directors to ensure cohesive world-building.
