Job summary

Compass Medical Waste Services is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead security personnel, ensure policy compliance, and maintain safety across premises in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The role requires PSIRA registration, Grade 12, and 3–5 years of supervisory security experience.

Applicant must hold a valid driver’s license and firearm owner status, and be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Strong leadership and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) required.
• Valid PSIRA Grade A or B registration.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a supervisory security role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Knowledge of security operations, access control, investigations, and incident management.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Licensed firearm owner.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all security personnel and activities.
• Monitor access control systems and visitor management processes.
• Investigate security incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage security shift rosters and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
• Conduct toolbox talks, security briefings, and on-the-job training for security staff.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and external security providers when required.
• Ensure all security equipment and systems are operational and maintained.
• Promote a culture of safety, vigilance, and professionalism.
