Job summary

Compass Medical Waste Services is seeking a dedicated Security Supervisor to safeguard our team, assets, and operations in Durban. You will lead security staff, enforce policies, manage access control, and coordinate with external agencies.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and incident management skills, plus 3–5 years in a supervisory security position. Shift work and a valid firearm license are required for this post.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• PSIRA Grade A or B registration is required.
• 3–5 years' experience in a supervisory security role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate security personnel and activities.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor access control systems and visitor management processes.
• Conduct routine patrols and inspections of premises.
• Investigate security incidents and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Manage security shift rosters and ensure adequate coverage.
• Conduct toolbox talks, security briefings, and on-the-job training for staff.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and external providers.
• Ensure security equipment and systems are operational and maintained.
• Promote safety, vigilance, and professionalism in the workplace.
