Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd requires a committed Security Supervisor to lead the security team and provide security services across the group. The successful candidate will supervise security employees, conduct parades, enforce discipline and monitor shift performance, while upholding health and safety regulations.

The role reports to the Security Manager and requires PSIRA Grade A, a Code 8 driver’s license, Grade 12, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Code 8 driver's license is essential.
• At least 5 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector.
• Registered with PSIRA -- Minimum Grade A.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willing to work irregular hours (shifts) and overtime.
• In good health and physical stature.
• Sober habits.
• Disciplined to apply company policies and procedure.
• Control Room experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage security employees.
• Conduct daily parades and uniform inspection to maintain professional standards.
• Ensure discipline is enforced consistently in line with company policy.
• Ensure security officers are promptly relieved for breaks as per schedule.
• Monitor efficiency and productivity of all security personnel on shift.
• Ensure security equipment is maintained and managed correctly.
• Perform site inspections and discuss preventative measures.
• Conduct initial investigations and report findings to the Security Operations Manager.
• Identify and mitigate risk.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures.
• Support management with security operations.
• Investigate and manage on-site incidents.
• Ensure Company rules, procedures and policies are adhered to on time.
• Ensure that discipline is enforced.
• Ensure Occupational Health and Safety regulations are enforced.
• Evaluating all collated information and documentation.
• Support control room as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd requires a committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their Security team as a Security Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of Security employees as well as providing security services to the Group. The successful candidate will report to the Security Manager.

Responsibilities (not Limited To The Below)

• Manage security employees.
• Conduct daily parades and uniform inspection to maintain professional standards.
• Ensure discipline is enforced consistently in line with company policy.
• Ensure security officers are promptly relieved for breaks as per schedule.
• Monitor efficiency and productivity of all security personnel on shift.
• Ensure security equipment is maintained and managed correctly.
• Perform site inspections and discuss preventative measures.
• Conduct initial investigations and report findings immediately to the Security Operations Manager.
• Identify and mitigate risk.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures.
• Support management with security operations.

• Ensure that the Company rules, procedures and policies are adhered to at all times within the expected deadlines.
• Ensure that discipline is enforced.
• Ensure that Occupational Health and safety regulations are enforced and adhered to.

Standard hours

• 06h00 - 18h00 ( Day Shift)
