Job summary

Parvana seeks a seasoned Security Operations Engineer to manage daily security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management in a hybrid Cape Town setup. You will configure core security tools, advise on secure cloud designs, and keep pace with emerging threats to protect financial-sector data.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years’ experience, solid Azure/M365 knowledge, and certifications related to MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001, or GDPR compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Security Operations or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with security incident response planning and ensuring its ongoing effectiveness.
• Expertise in Azure, M365, OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 20, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework (Microsoft or SANS certifications are desirable).
• Knowledge of ISO 27001:2022, data handling best practices, and GDPR in the financial sector.
• Ability to stay current with evolving threat actor TTPs and necessary mitigation mechanisms.
• A passion for secure, scalable, and resilient systems; strong problem-solving skills; commitment to ethics and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily security operations, including handling tickets and monitoring tools.
• Configure and operate core security tools and manage vulnerability processes.
• Provide security design input and ensure secure cloud service implementations.
• Support security awareness programs and conduct phishing tests.
