Job summary

Pick n Pay is seeking a diligent security professional to uphold store safety and asset protection. You will interact with customers and staff, apply security policies, and respond to incidents in a timely, professional manner.

The role requires a Matric Grade 12, a security qualification, and PSIRA/SOB Grade C registration. Flexibility with shifts and strong communication are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and employees in a courteous manner following security policies.
• Evaluate security systems and procedures and recommend improvements where needed.
• Liaise with senior management and external security organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with customers / employees in a courteous manner while applying security policies and procedures and offering an efficient security service.
• Must be able to evaluate security systems and procedures and make recommendations for improvement where necessary.

• Must be able to liaise with senior management as well as outside security organizations and the SAP services.
• Perform all security duties according to company policies and procedures.

• Follow correct emergency procedures.
• Ensure that security procedures are adhered to by employees and customer.

• Identify possible security risks, take appropriate action and inform relevant people.
• Safeguard company assets.
• Be consistently alert / vigilant / aware of what is going on by scanning for areas that need attention and by taking the required corrective action.
• Handling challenging customers, standing for long hours and routine work.
• Must be able to assist with alarm call outs if necessary.
