Job summary

Pick n Pay Retailers is seeking a vigilant Store Security Lead to manage security across the shop floor and back office, ensuring policy compliance and loss prevention while coordinating responses with store management.

The role requires a Matric, a security qualification, and PSIRA/SOB Grade C registration, with the ability to work flexible hours and remain calm under pressure in a busy retail setting. Closing date: 4 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Matric Grade 12 is required.
• Security qualification is required.
• Registration with PSIRA/SOB and Grade C is required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and employees in a courteous manner while applying security policies and procedures and offering an efficient security service.
• Evaluate security systems and procedures and make recommendations for improvement where necessary.
• Liaise with senior management as well as outside security organizations and the SAP services.
• Perform all security duties according to company policies and procedures.
• Follow correct emergency procedures.
• Ensure security procedures are adhered to by employees and customers.
• Identify possible security risks, take appropriate action and inform relevant people.
• Safeguard company assets.
• Be consistently alert and vigilant, monitoring areas and taking corrective action.
• Handle challenging customers, stand for long hours and routine work.
• Assist with alarm call outs if necessary.

To offer efficient security services by adhering to laid down policies and procedures (in order to prevent shrinkage/losses) for customers / employees in a courteous manner by ensuring the smooth day to day running of the store security; oversee the operational / maintenance of the store.

Minimum requirements

• Matric Grade 12.
• Must have a security qualification
• Must be registered with PSIRA/SOB and grade C
