The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay is seeking a Sculler to keep the kitchen clean, hygienic and well maintained, supporting chefs so meals meet Village n Life standards. You will clean equipment, utensils and workspaces, and assist with deliveries and stocktaking.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months' experience working in a kitchen.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Understanding of kitchen vocabulary.
• Dependable and adaptable with strong attention to detail.
• Team player who values diversity and works well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Clean cooking appliances, utensils, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans
• Clean the dishwasher according to protocol
• Wash walls and tiles daily from eye level down and weekly from eye level up
• Perform daily cleaning of grease traps and weekly cleaning of canopy filters
• Keep storerooms, fridges and freezers tidy and sanitary
• Ensure cooking equipment is clean and in good working order, reporting defects to senior staff
• Follow HACCP hygiene standards and cleaning schedules
• Assist with receipt of deliveries and stocktaking
• Complete pest control logs and manage daily chemical allocation

This role forms part of the back of house food and beverage team at The Bay Hotel, within the Village n Life hospitality group.

The Role

As a Sculler you'll ensure the kitchen is clean, hygienic and well maintained. You'll support the kitchen team by keeping equipment, utensils and workspaces in order so chefs can focus on preparing meals to Village n Life standards.

Key Responsibilities
