About the Role

This role is essential for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and staff, upholding the brand's reputation for excellence. You will be responsible for coordinating cleaning schedules, managing cleaning supplies, supervising cleaning staff, and ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality or facilities management, excellent organizational skills, and a dedication to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks for all areas of the hospitality venue.
• Supervise, train, and manage the performance of the cleaning staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed and ensuring proper storage.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Respond promptly to any guest or staff concerns regarding cleanliness or hygiene.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a sanitation, housekeeping, or facilities management role , preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of cleaning staff.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a public-facing environment.
• Familiarity with the Port Elizabeth hospitality market is a plus.
