Job summary

Lexdan Select is conducting a search for a Sales Manager based in Johannesburg to lead the Cleaning & Hygiene division. You will drive revenue, expand into new markets across South Africa, and build strong relationships with key customers.

You will manage a team of Technical Sales Advisors, oversee forecasting, pricing, margins, CRM processes, and report on performance while supporting product growth and new launches in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Experience in technical sales within the food industry or related sectors.
• Knowledge of CIP, detergents, disinfection, sanitation processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute divisional sales strategy for cleaning and hygiene.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across SA and target regions.
• Lead and coach a team of Technical Sales Advisors to achieve targets.
• Forecast sales, manage pricing, margins and CRM reports.
• Monitor market trends and inform business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Cleaning & Hygiene divisional sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, market share, and growth targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities, expand into new markets, and grow the customer base across South Africa and other target regions.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, ensuring customer retention and growth of existing accounts.
• Lead, coach, and manage a team of Technical Sales Advisors, driving performance, accountability, and sales results.
• Manage sales forecasting, pricing, margins, pipeline activity, CRM processes, and commercial reporting.
• Monitor market trends, customer requirements, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform business strategy.
• Support product growth and new product launches, ensuring successful market adoption and customer uptake.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications advantageous.
• Technical sales experience within the food industry, industrial hygiene, food chemicals, water treatment, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of food-industry cleaning and hygiene processes, including CIP systems, open plant cleaning, detergents, disinfectants, and sanitation practices.
• Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Management Systems.
