Job summary

GameOn Africa in Daveyton is seeking a Sales & Game Operator to lead floor operations, manage consoles, and deliver world-class customer experiences. You will promote kiosk offerings, drive revenue through sales and private bookings, and help run gaming tournaments and community events.

Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy gaming hub with solid retail experience, a passion for gaming culture, and strong social media skills for content creation and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) required.
• 1-2 years in retail, customer service, hospitality, or event production.
• Experience in gaming, kiosk or tech environment is a plus.
• Daveyton residence preferred.
• Strong understanding of social media and content creation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-energy customer experiences and oversee game operations (consoles, VR, arcade machines).

It’s More Than Just a Job

As a Sales & Game Operator, you are the face and energy of GameOn Africa. You will run the show on the floor, ensuring every guest has a world-class experience while driving the sales that keep our community thriving. Your day-to-day will be a mix of high-octane game operations, retail strategy, and social media content creation.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Customer Experience & Game Operations (The Vibe Curator)

  Welcome guests with infectious energy, managing everything from consoles, VR setups to arcade machines to ensure a flawless, seamless experience.

  Guide players through game selections, rules, and hardware usage, maintaining a fun, safe, and competitive atmosphere.

  Help bring the hype by assisting with gaming tournaments, high-score leader-board challenges, and community events.

  Run daily opening/closing checklists, manage the Point of Sale (POS) system, and keep the floor looking pristine and ready for action.

• 2. Sales & Retail Execution (The Revenue Driver)

  Actively promote our kiosk offerings and retail merchandise to boost sales.

  Drive revenue by promoting and booking private venue hire packages (birthday parties, VIP LAN sessions, corporate team-building).

  Engage walk-in customers interested in our custom hardware builds (arcade cabinets, gaming PCs, racing simulators) and convert their interest into sales leads.

• 3. Digital Media & Social Content Creation (The Content Creator)

  Capture the excitement by creating short-form videos, high-score clips, and customer reaction reels for GameOn Africa's social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Reels).

  Assist store leadership with weekly live streams and podcast studio operations, helping us push the boundaries of our digital presence.

Requirements & Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate, driven, and entrepreneurial individual.

Grade 12 (Matric certificate) is required.

1-2 years in retail, customer service, hospitality, or event production. Experience in a gaming, kiosk or tech environment is a massive advantage.

Candidates based in Daveyton are strongly preferred.

You live and breathe gaming culture (console, PC, mobile, arcade). You don't just play games; you understand the community around them. You have a solid grasp of basic technical troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, console setup, PC basics).

You have a strong understanding of social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and are obsessed with staying on top of the latest gaming and internet trends.

You are comfortable in front of a camera and have experience creating engaging short-form content.
