Job summary

Aspire Recruiting (PTY) LTD is seeking a Safety Officer to develop, implement, and evaluate risk management policies and health and safety programmes in a Bloemfontein-based operation.

Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, implementing safety plans, ensuring compliance with the OHS Act, inspecting equipment, investigating incidents, and delivering training across production teams.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / NQF 4 at minimum.
• SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate required.
• HIRA certification essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct baseline, continuous and issue-based risk assessments (HIRA).
• Identify hazards and propose preventative controls.
• Prepare and implement Safety and Health Plans and safe work procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act 85 of 1993 and ISO 22000 where applicable.
• Inspect tools and equipment for safety and compliance.
• Investigate workplace incidents to identify root causes.
• Facilitate safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Compile safety reports and audit documentation.
