Job summary

Ergasia Placements is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer in Bloemfontein to drive risk assessments and safety planning. You will verify equipment safety, monitor hazards, and contribute to the Safety and Health Plan while offering after-hours standby support as needed.

The role requires a National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF 4), SAMTRAC or NEBOSH, HIRA certification, and a SA driver’s license with own transport. 2 years’ experience is required; 4 years preferred.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4.
• SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate.
• HIRA certification.
• At least 2 years’ Safety Officer experience (4 years preferred).
• Valid South African driver’s licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventative measures.
• Check that tools and equipment are safe for use.
• Monitor hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare and implement the Safety and Health Plan.
• Provide after-hours standby support when required.
