Job summary

JVR Software in Bloemfontein is seeking a Safety Officer to implement and monitor health and safety plans on-site. You will conduct risk assessments, ensure equipment safety, and respond to hazardous situations in a dynamic industrial environment.

The role requires a national certificate or NQF4, SAMTRAC or NEBOSH, and 2+ years of experience (4 preferred); a valid RSA driver's license with own transport, plus HIRA certification and SACPCMP registration if applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF4.
• SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Safety Officer (4 years preferred).
• Valid RSA driver's license with own transport.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessment and propose preventative measures.
• Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
• Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
• Maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
• Ensure preparation and implementation of Safety and Health Plan.
• Stand-by afterhours as and when required.
