Job summary

Henry Schein in South Africa is seeking an Outbound Supervisor to oversee daily outbound fulfilment, including picking, packing, and handover to 3PL. You will lead warehouse staff, ensure safety, and track performance against SLAs.

The role requires 2–3 years in a warehouse or logistics environment and experience with WMS, NAV 2018, and Microsoft Business Central. On-site position with a strong focus on accuracy and timely shipments.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years in warehouse, supply chain, or distribution roles.
• Experience with WMS and data analytics preferred.
• Dynamics NAV 2018 and Microsoft Business Central experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound activities from order release to dispatch.
• Supervise picking, packing and staging to meet cut-off times.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and proper handling of consignments.
• Lead, train, and evaluate warehouse staff performance.
• Generate and review daily/weekly shipping reports.
• Maintain compliance with SOPs and OHASA safety standards.
• Liaise between outbound, inbound, 3PL and Sales teams.

Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The outbound supervisor will manage the day-to-day fulfilment, dispatch and delivery of goods. They will oversee warehouse workflows—including order picking, packing, and handover to 3pl to ensure shipments reach customers accurately, safely, and on schedule. They also will lead team performance and enforce safety compliance and ensures service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES RETURNS:

Operations & Logistics

• Coordinate daily outbound activities from order release to dispatch.
• Supervise picking, staging, and packing processes to ensure orders are ready before prescribed cut-off times.
• Ensure 100% inventory accuracy and proper handling of all outgoing consignments.
• Maintain compliance with all safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures.

Team Leadership

• Oversee, train, and manage the performance of warehouse associates, pickers, packers, or outbound sales team members.
• Conduct performance evaluations, handle scheduling, and coach staff on reaching their daily and weekly targets.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that promotes safety and continual professional development.

Communication & Reporting

• Act as the primary liaison between the outbound department, inbound, transport/logistics(3pl), Sales.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance and shipping reports.
• Investigate customer abnormalities or complaints and execute corrective actions.

Compliance & Safety:

• Enforces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality assurance (QA) guidelines, and health and safety (OHASA) regulations on the warehouse floor
• Asset protection
• PPE and Hazard control

General:

• Conduct and supervise cycle counting every morning
• Housekeeping (5S)
• Maintain reporting trackers
• Open and closing facility
• 3pl management (onsite personnel)

Experience

• Typically, 2 to 3 years in a warehouse, supply chain, warehouse distribution.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and data analytics.
• Exceptional organizational abilities, conflict resolution, and the capacity to work in high-pressure environments.
• Dynamics Nav 2018 experience (advantage)
• Microsoft Business Central (advantage)
