Uber seeks an experienced General Manager to lead the Delivery business in South Africa, spanning Restaurants and Retail/Grocery. The role demands setting the SA strategy, owning performance, driving growth, and leading the local organization.

Based in Johannesburg with in-office presence Tuesday–Thursday, you will shape multi-year plans, manage a high-performing team, and build strategic partnerships to scale the marketplace while ensuring profitability and customer value.

Formación

• Significant senior leadership experience with responsibility for a business, market, P&L, or large multi-functional organization.
• Demonstrated experience owning commercial and operational performance, with the ability to move between strategy and execution.
• Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L management and investment planning.
• Proven experience leading leaders, building teams, and developing senior talent.
• Strong analytical capability and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to operate close to the details while maintaining strategic perspective.
• Strong commercial instincts and partner development experience.
• Experience in complex, matrixed organizations with influence beyond direct authority.
• Knowledge of the South African business environment and competition.
• Executive communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Own the overall strategy and performance of South Africa Delivery across Restaurants and Retail/Grocery.
• Accountable for growth, marketplace performance, revenue, profitability and execution.
• Develop a clear multi-year SA strategy with measurable priorities and plans.
• Lead and develop a high-performing local leadership team.
• Use data and insights to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and act.
• Balance multi-sided marketplace needs across consumers, merchants, and couriers.
• Build relationships with major restaurant groups, retailers, and partners.
• Identify growth opportunities across the Delivery ecosystem and investments.
• Own financial planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Understand competitive landscape and differentiated propositions for SA.
• Collaborate with regional/global teams across Product, Ops, Finance, Marketing, Legal, People, Tech.
• Influence outcomes in a matrixed organization where teams may not report to SA GM.
• Represent the company to senior partners, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Develop future leaders and a strong local leadership bench.
• Lead through change with clarity, accountability, and execution excellence.
