Job summary

Uber South Africa is seeking a seasoned Country Operations Leader to drive day-to-day execution and deliver against the country strategy. You will oversee a small in-country team, scaling low-cost mobility and launches city by city, while building local partnerships and ensuring regulatory readiness.

You will partner with regional teams to align priorities, manage performance cadence, and translate analyses into action that accelerates growth across SA’s metros and regional centers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in operations, management, or execution-heavy, data-driven roles.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with data-driven decision making.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own country operational delivery for South Africa, unifying city and product performance.
• Lead local teams, set priorities, and manage performance cadence with clear owners.
• Roll out low-cost mobility across SA, from setup to go-live and stabilization.
• Manage regional and small city launches with readiness, partnerships, and compliance.
• Develop local partnerships and drive commercial deals within approved frameworks.
• Ensure regulatory readiness and embed compliance in processes and contracts.
• Coordinate with policy, legal, marketing, and support to deliver SA priorities.
