Job summary

Zohorecruit in Robertson, Western Cape, is seeking a skilled Roof Truss Designer to deliver precise designs and cost estimates for timber construction projects across sites.

You will interpret architectural drawings, prepare accurate quotes, and collaborate with builders and engineers, with travel between branches and project sites within the Western Cape.

The role requires 3–5 years’ experience and a relevant tertiary qualification; MiTek and Pamir software experience is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in roof truss design and cost estimation within timber/building materials.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and structural requirements.
• Strong mathematical proficiency and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel between sites within the Western Cape region.
• Matric certificate and relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience with point of sale software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create safe, compliant, and cost-effective roof truss designs from plans and briefs.
• Generate accurate quotes and material take-offs for clients, contractors and developers.
• Collaborate with builders, engineers and clients to provide technical support and optimized solutions.
• Conduct site visits to ensure precise measurements and project alignment across locations.
