Job summary

Guardian Recruiting (Pty) Ltd invites applications for a Costing Estimator & Roof Truss Designer role within a leading hardware and building materials group in the Western Cape. You will design roof trusses from plans and briefs, estimate costs, and advise builders and engineers on optimized structural solutions.

The position requires strong maths, reading architectural drawings, and proficiency in MiTek and Pamir. A valid SA driver’s licence and reliable transport are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in roof truss design and cost estimation within the timber or building materials industry.
• Advanced knowledge of MiTek and Pamir software programs is highly advantageous.
• Ability to accurately interpret complex architectural drawings and structural engineering requirements.
• Strong mathematical proficiency, attention to detail, and spatial awareness.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent computer literacy
• Point of Sales experience will be advantageous (IQ retail)
• Matric required
• Tertiary qualifications will be advantageous (with at least 3-5 years' experience in a similar position)
