Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a leading provider of specialized pediatric home care services in Centurion, Gauteng, to recruit a compassionate Pediatric Home Care Nurse. The role involves one-on-one nursing care for children with complex medical needs in their homes, requiring autonomy and strong clinical skills.

You will work closely with families and a multidisciplinary medical team, develop and adjust care plans, educate families, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Qualified RN with SANC license and pediatric training.
• Minimum 3 years pediatric nursing experience; 1 year in home care/critical care.
• Experience with ventilators, G-tubes and tracheostomies.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, treatments and therapies as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs and health status of pediatric patients.
• Provide specialized care such as respiratory support and wound care.
• Educate families on care plans, medications and emergencies.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and therapists to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document care.
• Respond to medical emergencies with appropriate intervention.
• Assess patient needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Advocate for patient needs within healthcare system.
