Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Durban is seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead rigging and rope work in mining operations, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.

You will write method statements, plan and schedule specialised rigging tasks, perform rope splicing for reliable connections, and install/maintain winder ropes, sheave wheels and conveyors to standard.

The role requires strong leadership, adherence to legal regulations, and effective resource management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise teams to safely achieve production targets.
• Write method statements to identify, manage and mitigate risks.
• Plan and schedule specialised rigging and rope work within cost, regulations, procedures and resources.
• Perform rope splicing for strong, reliable connections for heavy loads in mining.
• Safely install, inspect and maintain winder/hoist ropes, attachments, sheave wheels/conveyors and assist with shaft slinging.
• Safely maintain, repair, overhaul, erect/dismantle and construct engineering structures to standard.
