Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Cape Town seeks experienced personnel to supervise teams and safely meet production targets in mining operations. The role includes planning, writing method statements, and carrying out specialised rigging and rope work with strict adherence to safety, procedures, and resource planning.

The incumbent will install, inspect and maintain winder ropes, attachments and conveyors, while supporting shaft slinging and structural maintenance to standard on site in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Effective team supervision to safely achieve production targets.
• Write professional method statements that identify, manage, and mitigate risks.
• Plan and execute specialised rigging and rope work with focus on cost containment, regulations, procedures, quality, and resources.
• Perform rope splicing for strong connections used in handling heavy loads in mining operations.
• Safely install, inspect and maintain winder/hoist ropes, attachments, sheave wheels, conveyors and assist with shaft slinging.
• Safely maintain, repair, overhaul, erect/dismantle and construct engineering structures to standard.
