Qualifications

Purpose of the Job

The Rigger is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of rigging and lifting activities on site. The incumbent will ensure that all lifting operations are planned and performed in accordance with company procedures, legal requirements, client standards and approved lifting plans, while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect and maintain rigging equipment and lifting accessories.
• Perform rigging activities in accordance with approved lifting plans and risk assessments.
• Ensure all lifting equipment is certified, inspected and fit for purpose.
• Calculate load weights, determine centres of gravity and select appropriate rigging arrangements.
• Direct and coordinate lifting activities with crane operators and lifting teams.
• Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging gear and remove defective equipment from service.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and project SHEQ initiatives.
• Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures during lifting operations.
• Ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements, company procedures and legislative standards.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and lifting documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to safety, quality and operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Rigger Trade Certificate.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in rigging and lifting operations within construction, heavy lifting, renewable energy, industrial or engineering environments.
• Experience working on Wind Farm or Renewable Energy projects will be advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging practices and load handling techniques.
• Ability to interpret lifting plans, rigging drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation.
• Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness.
• Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
