Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking an experienced RF/MF Electronics Technician for a specialist systems design client in South Africa. The role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, debugging and repairing RF/MF PCBs to component level, with hands-on verification on complex digital and RF hardware.

The ideal candidate holds an Electronic Engineering qualification with 5+ years of MF/RF experience, strong calibration and measurement skills and practical familiarity with spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes

Qualifications

• Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on MF/RF experience.
• PCB fault-finding, testing and repair at component level.
• Experience with digital and RF technologies.
• Strong passion for electronics and problem-solving.
• Experience with spectrum analysers, RF test gear and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will work on sophisticated radio and electronic systems, including prototype development, testing, field service and technical support to local and international clients.

Our client - specialist systems designers - are looking for an experienced RF / MF Electronics Technician with strong hands-on expertise in Medium Frequency (MF) and Radio Frequency (RF) electronics to join their specialist technical team.

This role is not suited to a parts-fitter or basic assembly technician, but to an individual who is highly skilled in testing, fault-finding, debugging and repairing electronic PCBs down to component level, with a combination of digital and RF technologies.

Key Requirements

• Electronic Engineering Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience working with Medium Frequency (MF) and Radio Frequency (RF) electronics down to component level.
• Strong practical experience in PCB fault-finding, testing and repair.
• Experience working with a combination of digital and RF technologies.
• A genuine passion for electronics and technical problem-solving.
• Experience with:
  • Component-level fault finding and repair of electronic PCBs.
  • RF and MF coil tuning and board tuning.
  • PCB testing, debugging and optimisation.
  • Spectrum Analysers
