Job summary

soughtout is seeking a Junior Electronic Service Engineer to repair, calibrate and maintain electronic test and measurement equipment. The role requires practical electronics knowledge, fault-finding skills and a customer-focused approach.

You will work within a technical team and have opportunities to develop expertise in RF and microwave testing. Ideal candidates have a tertiary electronics qualification and hands-on repair/calibration experience, with strong diagnostic abilities and attention

Qualifications

• 3+ years practical experience in repairs and/or calibration of test and measurement equipment.
• Qualification in Electronics/Electrical Engineering; advanced diplomas considered.
• Strong understanding of test and measurement principles.
• Experience with RF and microwave test equipment is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and calibrate electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic and instrumentation faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance, technical investigations, and root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers.
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of RF and microwave test equipment.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering (L/C), Computer Engineering, Computer Science.
• An Advanced Diploma, BTech and/ or relevant industry experience will be considered.
• A strong academic record will be advantageous.
• 3+ years practical experience in the repairs and/or calibration of test and measurement equipment.
• Good understanding of test and measurement principles.
• Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.
• Practical Knowledge of RF connector care, handling and usage
• Experience with RF and microwave test equipment will be advantageous.
• Experience with signal generators, spectrum analysers, network analyser, power meters, oscilloscopes or similar instrumentation will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving – skills.
