Job summary

The University of Fort Hare is seeking an RF Technician with strong MF/RF electronics expertise for Pretoria-based roles. You will diagnose faults, repair PCBs to component level, and work with a mix of digital and RF technologies in both in-house and field settings.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Degree in Electronic Engineering and at least 5 years hands-on MF/RF experience, plus proficiency with RF testing tools and PCB layouts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electronic Engineering (or similar).
• Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with MF and RF electronics.
• Proficient in using RF testing tools (spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.).
• Strong understanding of PCBs, BOMs, and circuit layouts.
• Experience with tuning RF and MF coils and testing RF boards.
• Comfortable with client interaction and working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in MF/RF electronics and repair PCBs to component level.
• Work with both digital and RF technologies across in-house and field settings.
• Interact with clients and teammates to coordinate service activities.
