Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Retail Store Manager in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal region. The role requires a Diploma in Business Administration / Sales / Marketing and about five years in Retail Sales or Marketing, including supervisory experience.

You will lead store operations, manage pricing, merchandising, compliance, and customer service to achieve growth and profitability. The position emphasizes strategic planning, team scheduling, and maintaining safe, compliant store practices

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in Retail Sales and/or Marketing with up to three years at supervisory/managerial level.

Responsibilities

• Retail Store Management: contribute to strategic plans and daily store operations.
• Identify customer requirements by engaging with potential and actual customers.
• Ensure merchandise availability by approving contracts and managing inventories.
• Formulate pricing policies and use promotions to drive sales.
• Market merchandise through advertising, promotions, displays, and profitability analysis.
• Secure merchandise with appropriate security systems and measures.
• Maintain a safe, clean store environment for employees and customers.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and policies to prevent irregular expenditure.
• Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements.
• Schedule and assign employees and monitor work outcomes.
• Compliance: operate within controls to ensure integrity; monitor risks; maintain risk register.
• Ensure safe working environment by adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Customer Service Management: maintain relationships with customers and represent the company in meetings.
