Job summary

Sealand Gear Noordhoek is looking for a passionate Retail Sales Consultant to create meaningful in-store experiences, welcome customers, and share the Sealand story. You’ll engage with shoppers, highlight sustainability, and help people find products that align with their lifestyle and needs.

You’ll contribute to daily sales targets, maintain store standards, assist with merchandising and stock, and support the team during busy periods and weekends.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Retail Sales Consultant, you’ll be an important part of the Sealand customer experience — welcoming customers into our stores, sharing the Sealand story, and helping people find products that align with their lifestyle and needs.

You’ll contribute to achieving store sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high store standards, and ensuring that every customer interaction reflects the Sealand brand and values.

You’ll work closely with the store team to support the day-to-day running of the store, including merchandising, stock management, housekeeping, customer engagement, and other operational requirements.

As a member of the Sealand retail team, you’re expected to be reliable, proactive, adaptable, and committed to creating a positive experience for both our customers and your fellow team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Experience

• Deliver exceptional, personalised service that makes every customer feel welcome and valued
• Confidently share the Sealand story and product knowledge
• Assist with customer queries, returns, and exchanges in a professional manner
• Create a warm, engaging in-store environment aligned with Sealand’s values

Sales & Product Knowledge

• Support the team in achieving daily and monthly sales targets
• Build strong product knowledge across materials, functionality, and brand story
• Identify natural upselling and cross-selling opportunities
• Assist customers in finding products that best suit their needs
• Stay informed about new products, promotions, and campaigns

Store Presentation & Operations

• Maintain the overall look and feel of the store, from merchandising to cleanliness
• Ensure all in-store elements (music, scent, lighting, displays) are on-brand
• Restock and keep the store organised and visually appealing
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries when needed
• Follow all store procedures and operational standards

Team Support

• Work closely with the Store Manager and team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Provide additional support during busy trading periods, weekends, public holidays, and staff leave
• Support visual merchandising and campaign rollouts
• Uphold Sealand’s retail standards, including punctuality and professionalism
• Participate in ongoing training through Sealand Academy
• Be adaptable and willing to support the team where needed
