Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Merchandiser for the Musgrave store to uphold merchandising standards and deliver excellent customer service. You’ll restock, manage stock movement, keep shelves well-presented, and assist customers with enquiries.

Essential qualifications include Grade 12 and up to 6 months of retail experience, with MS Office skills and willingness to work retail hours. Advantageous: 1 year retail experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Up to 6 months retail experience preferred.
• Computer literate – MS Office.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.
• Advantageous: at least 1 year retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Restock merchandise to maximise sales.
• Store stock from storeroom, store and pack promptly.
• Ensure stock on shelves is not past sell-by date.
• Maintain full range of products on shelves at all times.
• Rotate stock on a FIFO basis.
• Report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged or expired stock to management.
• Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem operating standards, store layout and planograms.
• Ensure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to designated area.
• Ensure shelves are neat with correct labels and pricing.
• Report price discrepancies to management.
• Keep abreast of current and new products.
• Merchandising displays are built, faced up, stocked and maintained.
• Maintain daily upkeep of store and merchandise displays, storeroom stock and shop floor stock.
• Assist with loading and off-loading of stock.
• Ensure items without barcodes are clearly marked.
• Assist with back shopping and training of new staff.
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and resolve stock queries.
