Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics and Governance Specialist to establish responsible AI practices in Randburg. You will develop frameworks, policies, and guidelines to ensure AI systems are ethical, fair, and transparent, working with legal, engineering, and policy teams.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Law, Policy, Ethics, CS or related field.
3+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, policy, or governance.
Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and societal implications.
Knowledge of ethical principles, standards, and regulatory landscapes for AI.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to translate complex ethical and legal concepts into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics guidelines and governance frameworks.
Assess AI systems for potential biases, fairness issues, and regulatory compliance.
Create processes for risk assessment, mitigation, and ongoing monitoring of AI deployments.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay updated on AI regulations.
Provide training and guidance to internal teams on responsible AI development and deployment.
Facilitate discussions and workshops on AI ethics and governance topics.
