About the Role

Our client, a prestigious architectural studio known for its bespoke luxury residential designs, is seeking a talented and creative Residential Design Architect to join their practice in the scenic coastal city of George, Western Cape . This role focuses on designing high-end private residences, from concept to completion, catering to a discerning clientele. You will be responsible for leading design development, producing detailed architectural documentation, and overseeing projects to ensure exceptional quality and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of luxury homes, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating unique, aesthetically pleasing, and functional living spaces. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to balance office-based collaboration with site visits and remote design work, allowing you to contribute effectively from our George studio and client sites across the beautiful Western Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for bespoke luxury residential projects.
• Develop innovative and highly personalized design concepts for private homes.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, specifications, and material palettes.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Architect with SACAP.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in architectural practice.
• Significant demonstrable experience in the design of high-end, luxury residential properties.
• Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering applications (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion).
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional residential design projects.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
• Ability to translate complex client requirements into elegant design solutions.
• Understanding of high-end construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of local planning and building regulations in the Western Cape .
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa and reside in or be willing to relocate to George .
