Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee on-site civil construction in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will supervise activities, ensure conformance with drawings and quality standards, monitor progress, and manage site documentation while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Ideal candidates hold a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering with PrEng registration (advantageous) and have 6+ years in civil construction supervision.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Professional registration (PrEng) with ECSA is highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering construction supervision and site management.
• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or Site Manager on infrastructure projects (roads, bulk services, etc.).
• Thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with relevant South African building codes and SANS standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Proficiency in site management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
