Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Immersive Experience Developer (XR) to join our arts and entertainment projects on a contract basis. You will conceptualize, design, and implement interactive XR experiences that captivate audiences across VR, AR and MR platforms.

You should have a strong portfolio of XR development, be proficient with Unity or Unreal, and comfortable working remotely with a global team. This role offers full remote flexibility and creative independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Digital Media, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in developing immersive experiences for VR, AR, or MR platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Unity (C#) or Unreal Engine (C++/Blueprints).
• Experience with 3D modeling, animation, and asset integration.
• Understanding of XR interaction design principles and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.
• A portfolio showcasing successful XR projects is essential.
• Familiarity with 3D spatial audio design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program immersive XR experiences using relevant game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
• Design and implement interactive elements, user interfaces, and narrative sequences within XR environments.
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and writers to bring creative visions to life in VR/AR/MR.
• Optimize XR experiences for performance, stability, and user comfort across various hardware platforms.
• Build and maintain reusable XR development frameworks and tools.
• Conduct user testing and iterate on designs based on feedback and performance data.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in XR hardware, software, and development methodologies.
• Troubleshoot and debug XR applications, ensuring a polished final product.
• Contribute to the technical design and architectural decisions for XR projects.
• Explore and prototype new XR concepts and technologies.
