Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Technician for a fully remote support role serving Vereeniging operations. You will monitor turbines remotely, diagnose issues via SCADA, and guide on-site crews through maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal asset performance.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with at least 2 years in rotating machinery, strong diagnostics abilities, and comfort making decisions remotely in a technology-driven

Qualifications

Requires technical degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Minimum 2 years maintaining or troubleshooting large rotating machinery, preferably wind turbines.
Proficiency with SCADA systems and remote diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

Monitor wind turbine performance using SCADA and remote tools.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues from data and logs.
Provide clear technical instructions to on-site technicians for troubleshooting and repairs.
Maintain records of turbine performance, maintenance, and resolutions.
Identify potential failure modes and recommend preventive maintenance strategies.
Communicate effectively with site managers, field technicians, and engineering teams.
