Placements24 seeks a Chemical Engineer specialized in water treatment to join a remote-capable team serving the Stellenbosch region. You will design, implement, and optimize chemical processes for water purification, wastewater treatment, and industrial water management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and 3+ years of water treatment experience, with strong remote communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, coagulation, flocculation, disinfection, and filtration.
• Experience with water treatment plant operations and process optimization.
• Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and permitting.
• Excellent remote communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop chemical treatment processes for potable, industrial, and wastewater applications.
• Select and specify chemicals, equipment, and dosing systems.
• Monitor and analyze water quality parameters and adjust treatment strategies.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot trials for new water treatment technologies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and discharge standards.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing water treatment facilities.
