Placements24 is seeking a specialized Chemical Engineer with a focus on water treatment to lead design, operation, and optimization of industrial water and wastewater processes in Queenstown. You will monitor water quality, ensure compliance with discharge limits, and drive sustainable treatment solutions.

The role requires strong water chemistry knowledge, advanced process engineering skills, and a commitment to environmental protection.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering with water treatment specialization.
4+ years of experience in industrial water and wastewater treatment.
Strong knowledge of water chemistry, coagulation, flocculation, disinfection and membranes.
Experience with water treatment equipment and instrumentation.
Familiarity with environmental regulations on water discharge.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Design, operate, and optimize chemical processes for water and wastewater treatment.
Monitor water quality and ensure regulatory discharge limits.
Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Evaluate new treatment technologies and chemicals to improve efficiency.
Develop procedures and safety protocols for treatment facilities.
Prepare reports on performance and environmental compliance.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and EHS teams.
